Lucienne Vidah

Lucienne started the study of Iyengar Yoga in her native Amsterdam with Clé Souren. Inspired by Faeq Biria she completed the Teacher Training program with James Murphy and Mary Dunn. She obtained a Level III teacher certificate in 2018 and studied at RIMYI eight times.

Lucienne came to yoga as a dancer but also worked in Amsterdam hospitals as a nurse and in pelvic floor rehab therapy in NYC. She is certified in Hellerwork. Since 1999 Studio Spine has been her dream work. After running three consecutive studios in NYC, she now operates online and teaches at various locations. She recently became a resident of Edinburgh, Scotland and currently lives with her husband between there and NYC. She loves walking, dancing and the arts.

Lucienne’s teaching seeks to make the student feel and experience their embodiment by detailed focus on specific areas. To be present in the moment one needs to be ‘very alive’. Being acutely aware of the process of the body and the mind describes yoga practice to Lucienne. To beginners she says, "Find the joy and the beauty of asana, practice without asking questions for a while, the rest comes later."
