Eve Holbrook

Eve began studying Iyengar Yoga in 1994. She has studied extensively with Mary Dunn, Kevin Gardiner, Lara Warren, James Murphy, and Glenn Ceresoli. Since receiving her Level 1 Certification in 2006, she has made four extended trips to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute. She has taught in the Specific Needs class at the Iyengar Institute of New York and has assisted in the medical classes in Pune.

In addition to her online classes for the New York Institute, Eve offers classes, workshops and international retreats via her own studio, Eve’s Yoga Space. She is also co-owner of Samamkaya Yoga Back Care & Scoliosis Collective, and founder of The Nerve of Expression, a community project exploring the connection between yoga and the artistic process.

Having a background in the performing arts, Eve worked as an actor and producer prior to teaching yoga. She now lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, with her husband, and loves riding her bike everywhere.

Eve’s students describe her teaching style as thoughtful, precise, attentive, and encouraging. Initially drawn to Iyengar Yoga for relief from chronic back pain, she has grown to view the practice of yoga as an opportunity to see ourselves truthfully, discover what is important to us, and weave that insight into the way we live our lives:

“It is through the alignment of the body that I discovered the alignment of my mind, self, and intelligence.”

― B.K.S. Iyengar, Light on Life”
