Naghmeh’s love of literature and thoughtful expression led her to a B.A. in English and an advanced belt in the martial arts, and finally, in 1999, to Iyengar yoga where she found a home for both and more. Her ongoing study led to regular month-long immersions at RIMYI with the Iyengar family in Pune, India.
At home, Naghmeh has been one of the contributing teachers in the IYAGNY's Teacher Education Program and the Specific Needs Program for many years. She volunteers as an Assessor for the national association, IYNAUS. Naghmeh is grateful to the Iyengar Family and their teachings, and to those who have shown the way, from her primary teachers James Murphy, and Kevin Gardiner to intensive study with Faeq Biria, Patricia Walden, and Stephanie Quirk.
Practice continues to light Naghmeh’s way, and learning to practice all limbs of yoga provides her with clarifications and questions that inform living life daily with integrity and neutrality, with love and acceptance towards the self and towards all other beings.
Naghmeh enjoys painting or playing piano on a whim and spends ample time with her animal companions, and nature.
