Meg Walsh-Sinkel

Meg Walsh-Sinkel has been practicing and studying yoga since 2001 as a refuge from her demanding lifestyle as a Senior Vice President for a major Fashion Brand. In 2005, she bade farewell to the fashion industry and dove deeply into the studies of yoga primarily in the Vinyasa / Ashtanga traditions and began teaching in 2008. In 2012, Meg’s practice shifted, when she was introduced to the brilliance and depth of the Iyengar Yoga method and became a dedicated Iyengar Yoga student.

Meg joined the Teacher Education Program and became a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 2018. She made her first month long trip to Pune, India to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute (RIMYI) in January 2019. Meg continues to study and learn from her primary teachers, Naghmeh Ahi, and James Murphy, as well as weekly online classes with Abhijata Iyengar.

Meg’s aim is to teach clearly with enthusiasm, making the poses attainable and challenging, and the practice understandable. With repeated, and committed practice, Meg’s hope is that her students will experience the transformative effects of yoga and move more fluidly through their bodies, minds, limitations, and lives, finding ease, freedom and happiness.

In her teaching, Meg holds close the words of B.K.S. Iyengar: “Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action.”
